    Summary

This Chinese restaurant is definitely worth a visit. If you are interested in original Chinese cuisine, then you have to check this out. I was particularly impressed by the affordable price of all the orders.

Do you like Chinese food? Please don’t think of the big China buffets, as these buffets are tailored to the European palate and have almost nothing in common with Chinese cuisine.

I will now introduce you to a Chinese restaurant in Frankfurt am Main which you should definitely visit if you are in Frankfurt, near the main train station. The restaurant Pak Choi represents Northern Chinese cuisine but also offers dishes from the Sichuan province. Pak Choi is located in the heart of the Frankfurt main train station district and is very easily accessible on foot. The restaurant, which was very full during my visit, shows that the many good reviews on Tripadvisor are completely justified.

    Fried Pig Intestine

    PakChoi Gericht

Oh dear, I don’t eat that! I will never say something like that. I am open to any dish because I am not prejudiced. I tried it and was amazed and at the same time annoyed as to why I hadn’t tried this dish before.

I tried this dish for the first time at Pak Choi. It is quite spicy due to the peppers and chilies, but the fried pieces of pork balance out the spiciness. The pig intestine was slightly salty and had a slightly wild aftertaste.

    Pig Ears in Chili Oil

    PakChoi Gericht

Relatively unknown to Europeans, but this dish is characterized by its stronger chili oil flavor. The thin strips of pig ear are not floppy and tough, they are very easy to eat. The fiery fried vegetables are the ideal accompaniment.

Spicy Cooked Fish in Chili Oil

    PakChoi Gericht

This dish is currently my absolute favorite dish when I go to a Chinese restaurant. Here, fish (Pangasius or also Taipei) is cooked in a pot with delicious sauce, water and chili oil. This additionally soaks up the broth and develops a very good taste in the mouth. This dish is served with rice.

Exterior View of Pak Choi Restaurant in Frankfurt

    PakChoi Gericht

The exterior of the restaurant is rather minimalist. During my visit there was no restaurant sign and no advertising on the windows. Despite the unassuming exterior, I had the feeling that this restaurant is very well known among the people and is constantly well attended.

A little tip: My dishes were very oily. In China, a lot of green tea is drunk to prevent oils and fats from settling in your own body. Green tea therefore promotes digestion and the absorption of fats. So always drink green tea when you eat fatty food.
