This post is about my garden in Japan. I have planted some food there with my grandma and wanted to share it with you. Of course, we also have many flowers, shrubs and a few trees, but in this post I will focus on the food, as it is about RyuKoch, a Food & Travel Blog .

Our garden is a mix of Japanese and Western herbs, vegetables and some fruit. You can't imagine the garden like in Germany. It is much smaller, but big for Tokyo.

If you would like to see some plants, I would like you to write in the comments which plants I should grow. I would be open to anything.

    Blueberries

First, our two small blueberry bushes. I hope this summer (2020), some will finally grow. The flowers look promising anyway!

    Japanese Spices

Then, of course, we have many spices in the garden, as I love to cook. My grandma also likes to cook.

    Shiso

Shiso is a must in a Japanese garden or balcony. Similar to basil in Germany. What Shiso is exactly, you can find out in the post below.

    Chilli

Then I recently (beginning of 2020) bought two small chili plants because I like spicy food. I'm curious to see how the plant develops.

    Parsley - two different kinds

I'm not sure, but I think one parsley is Japanese and the other is Italian. We like to use them for bowls or spaghetti.

    Vegetables

Then we have some vegetables. A few tomatoes, cucumbers, some leaves etc. I think it's a good alternative to the supermarket. No chemicals, cheaper and healthier! And of course, in view of the situation, it's also good for the climate if you don't have to transport and cool anything. Just cut it off, wash it and eat it.

    Tomatoes & Cucumbers

Let's see what happens with the cherry tomatoes and Japanese cucumbers. I hope there will be juicy food coming out of it! Above all, I'm afraid of the beetles etc., but let's see.

    A few beans

Beans are also a must! They are sweet and have a lot of protein.
