The preparation:

  1. Prepare the filling. Cut the cucumbers and other ingredients into long, thin strips, prepare the omelette and chop the shrimp.

  2. Now cook the rice. Wash it thoroughly 2 to 3 times with cold water. The starch should be washed out of the rice. Once the water is no longer milky, the rice is ready to cook. Now add the 3 cups of water and bring the rice to a boil, then turn off the heat. Let it simmer for 20 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, bring the rice vinegar, sugar and salt to a boil.

  4. Once the rice is cooked, put it in a bowl and stir in the rice vinegar mixture. The vinegar will make the rice sticky again. Set aside for about 5 minutes to cool slightly.

  5. Now it's time to roll the sushi wraps: Place the nori sheet on a bamboo mat and spread the finished rice on the nori sheet, preferably a little thicker, leaving about 1-2cm of the sheet free at the top or bottom end to make it easier to seal the rolls later.

  6. Now it's time for the wasabi to give the roll a little spice and a spicier flavor. Spread the wasabi thinly on the rice. Be careful! Don't use too much, otherwise it can be too spicy. My tip at this point: also spread a little cream cheese and mayonnaise on top. A very delicious flavor!

  7. Now place the prepared ingredients on top of the wasabi.

  8. The difficult rolling part starts now: gently lift the rolling mat at the bottom end and try to use your fingers to shape the nori sheet and rice around the filling into a firm roll. It's best to try and hold the filling in place with your fingers. (Tip: moisten the end of the sheet slightly, this will help the roll stick together better)

  9. Press the rolled bamboo mat firmly together and smooth it slightly with your hands.

  10. Now wrap a sheet of baking paper around the roll and fill your lunchbox with the delicious sushi wrap rolls! Then enjoy your lunch break :)
